Setting Sail 02:02
Oh how long we have waited for our ship to set sail Take us away and carry us out to sea In the water We are free... x3 With a pinless compass Setting sail...x3 In the heart of the earth.

Hum Strum 04:05
I'd rather take my time and lose some sleep at night Rather than hurry fast towards some peace of mind I want to hear my voice when I am silent and the silence when I speak Even though the music's gone, I won't let it weaken me Hum to the West and Strum to the East Two hearts, two drums to pound, two separate beats Listen to my heart and it beated It beated to it's own drum and the drum slowly faded I faded till I could no longer hear it Instrumental Bridge, Chorus My heart moves to the beat, to the rhythm, to the heart of the earth From the rain and the water and the tide of the moon In the circle of life, circling breath of the tree down through it's roots. In the heart of the earth. x2

The cold white snow fills our backyard. We are alone, living up in the tundra far from where we came from The turning wheels of the cars slow at this time of year The birds song becomes silence to my ears I don't mind living like this, it's the very first time that I've found peace With no rules and little resources, quietly up in the Great White North Late in the evening, we fasten our snow shoes Walk out in to the night Above the fir trees, the glow of the dancing Northern Lights I don't mind living like this, it's the very first time that I found peace With no rules and little resources, quietly up in the Great White North (vocal stuff) I don't mind living like this, it's the very first time that I found peace With no rules and little resources, quietly up in the Great White North

All our lives we are dreaming of gold We forget it's these moments and not what we're sold We focus and fret until we get old Put a price on our heads Treasure gold over lead Cus no amount of treasure has the right to be measured Lead will stay lead when turned by a pessimist No gold can made for pleasure, were the words of the alchemist. (Instrumental) Put a price on our heads, treasure gold over lead, x2 Cus no amount of treasure has the right to be measured Lead will stay lead when turned by a pessimist No gold can made for pleasure, were the words of the alchemist. (Put a price on our heads, treasure gold over lead)....

Lover take me away let my deepest dreams unveil you know i've let them go astray Drop the anchor, rest the sails Now in the stars, their purpose revealed In time all things are A message from the Gods supposing their real It pulls on my body takes my imagination consumes my thoughts a foul vacation Now we go on home. Across the shadows fill fill the darkened sky Only the green of the northern lights And I often feel frightened by the thunder in her eyes It's a crystallized dream when it shines all the wonders of the world in her eyes (In her eyes...x3) Aurora Aurora Aurora Borealis (in her eyes...)

I look back and I see you on the roadside but I drive away We shed a tear then we move on with our heads up Cus we are bound by fate But I will love you, almost always An outlaw with a mugshot and a warrant. No bank, no home, no phone. Seven dollars attached to his name, he goes where he is not known But I will love you, almost always I came to you and I found you in the country and that's where you'll stay Live out your every day in sunlight and try to stay awake But I will love you, almost always x3 The things I can't change, the time that we spent The way I feel for you the words that I meant They have all faded now. Though moments remain clear The one thing I hold dear Is that I will love you, almost always x2 I look back I still see you on that roadside but I drive away.

A caravan pulls in to the Eastern land dust did not touch the brass of the wheels travellers from a far off star under a mountain, over a veil they knew not the tales of the old and heeded not the wails of the old With a pinless compass, setting sail x2 Too few rest in a place too cold for words and fewer left run with wild herds Almost none, ride beneath the sun Almost all have not begun Many hours spent, spending them and fewer left contending when When the mountain makes its call x2 When the mountain makes it call x2 With a pinless x3 compass! ////// Lover where have you been? The ground is dry but the tide is coming in and I don't know if I'll stay afloat Cus in the water I can breath, don't ya know? We've been dragging a heavy hand over shapes in the sand But the water will wash it all away. And I don't know if I'll stay or if I will go. Cus in the water I am free, don't ya know? With a pinless compass setting sail x4

about

When Natalie and Jasmin sat down to discuss their first EP together there was an obvious theme staring at them. First off, their name, We Are Water, and secondly a handful of songs with theme's of departing, moving forward and specifically "Setting Sail" brought in to view a clear vision for the EP.

The two have been in each others lives for over 3 years, after both had just moved to Vancouver. Natalie posted an ad on craigslist "Looking for females to jam and sing with" and Jasmin replied. Since then they have been colliding musically when possible, each moving across the country or travelling, sometimes together, usually a part. The two are finally living together in a musical house in East Van, creating music and building upon their friendship.
